The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has officially unveiled crucial details regarding the registration period for fiscal year (FY) 2025. Commencing on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at noon ET, and concluding on Friday, March 22, 2024, at noon ET, this period marks the opportunity for employers or their representatives to register potential H-1B beneficiaries through a myUSCIS online account.

'In response to growing concerns over fairness and integrity in the registration process, USCIS has introduced a beneficiary-centric approach. This innovative system shifts the focus from selecting registrations to selecting beneficiaries directly. The goal is to minimize the potential for fraud and manipulation, particularly in light of the surge in beneficiaries with multiple registrations observed in previous fiscal years.

With a total of 780,884 registrations received for FY 2024, including over 400,000 submissions for beneficiaries with multiple eligible registrations, USCIS recognized the need for reform. Under the new system, each beneficiary will be assessed individually, ensuring an equitable chance of selection for all. This approach aims to curb any misuse of the registration system, fostering transparency and fairness.
